Term: Romantic Tutu
What: A Romantic Tutu was the first of all tutus. It is a costume worn by female ballet dancers. A Romantic Tutu is made up of a tight bodice that hugs the dancer which is connected to a bell-shaped skirt which falls somewhere between the calf and the ankle of the dancer. Like a Classical Tutu ensemble, the Romantic Tutu isn’t complete without a headpiece and arm sleeves.
