Under construction: A princess moment in Lisa Macuja-Elizalde's Sleeping Beauty

The beloved fairytale, Sleeping Beauty, is given a new interpretation by Ballet Manila’s artistic director Lisa Macuja-Elizalde. Set to premiere at the Newport Theater in Resorts World Manila on January 18, this new ballet based on Charles Perrault’s story of a cursed princess doomed to sleep for a hundred years until her true love awakens her with a kiss will include a number of plot twists and new characters to enchant the audience.

In this clip taken during a dress rehearsal, principal dancers Jasmine Pia Dames and Romeo Peralta take on the lead roles of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip in a charming dance for two.
