Ballet Manila Moments: A hopping good time in ‘Snow White’

Lisa Macuja-Elizalde’s Snow White has all the enchantment and delight one would expect from a fairytale ballet. While it highlights the relationship between Snow White and the Evil Queen as well as the romance between Snow White and the Prince, great care was taken in ensuring that all aspects of the choreography would live up to the reputation of this much-loved story.

Even the cute bunnies were given their due in a charming choreography at the home of the seven dwarves. They are seen dancing around Snow White as she tidies up the messy house. But even in their bunny suits, Ballet Manila’s corps de ballet exhibited the Vaganova technique that the company is known for.

In this clip, principal dancer Shaira Comeros takes on the title role of Snow White while the company artists of BM hop about with a balletic flair in the 2019 production of Snow White.
