They just have to keep on dancing! Ballet Manila artists love their craft so much that even when they're away from the stage, they end up busting a move, trying out some steps or at least striking a ballet pose or two.

Sea, sky and sun proved to be the perfect backdrop for dancing couple Joan Emery Sia and Elpidio Magat. They were in Boracay with dancer-friends and all of them enjoyed having a mini-pictorial among themselves as a group and by pairs – involving lots of graceful lifts, powerful leaps and pointed toes and extended arms like only they can do it. “This is how dancers play. Take us anywhere and automatically, the first pose we think about is a ballet pose,” Joan confirms. One day on the beach, Joan and Elpidio thought of having a shot taken against the sun, leaving their faces in the shadows but outlining their forms quite vividly. “I think it’s great that I have a boyfriend who can lift me anytime I want. Makes taking photos extra fun!” the ballerina laughs.
