Little girls and boys with ballerina and danseur dreams can start pursuing their goals at The Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila as it presents its Summer Intensive 2018.

Running from April 2 to May 20, the summer intensive program offers a full slate of classes in classical ballet which Ballet Manila has become identified with.

The Lisa Macuja School of Ballet Manila is the only ballet school in the Philippines with direct links to the Russian Ballet Academy of St. Petersburg, Russia and trains students in the Russian Vaganova method.

Its classical ballet classes caters to various age groups: Creative Movement (ages 3 to 5); Twinkle Toes (ages 5 to 6); Level 1B – Beginner (ages 6 to 10); Level 1A – Advanced (ages 6 to 10); Level 2B – Intermediate (ages 11 to 14); Level 2A – Advanced (ages 11 to 14); and Level 3.

School directress and Ballet Manila artistic director Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and BM co-artistic director Osias Barroso lead the faculty composed of seasoned teachers all trained in the Russian Vaganova method.

Classes are being offered in the school’s two locations. Ballet Manila is at 1915 Donada St. in Pasay and at the fourth level of Fisher Mall in Quezon City.

The school also offers non-classical modules in its summer intensive: Modern Ballet, Street Dance, Yoga-Lates (Conditioning) and Adult Ballet.

There is an Adult Summer Program – combining fitness and classical ballet – geared for men and women, age 18 and above, who may or may not have had previous ballet training.

Special packages are likewise being offered for those who want to enroll in a combination of classical ballet and non-classical ballet classes.

Summer Intensive 2018 will culminate in Just Dance 21, the recital program scheduled on May 20 at Aliw Theater.

Just Dance casts the summer graduates in a professionally mounted showcase that also features Ballet Manila artists.
