What: Ballon
The term “ballon” means to bounce and it is used to describe the quality of a jump in terms of its lightness and ease. A dancer with good ballon would seem to have a spring in their jump. For a moment, the dancer would seem effortlessly suspended in the air, before softly landing and quickly rebounding into the next jump. To have a good ballon, the dancer would have to be quick in engaging the muscles and have enough strength to maintain their position in the air.
