`La Traviata’ takes the spotlight on two stages

Lisa Macuja-Elizalde’s La Traviata will be gracing two stages this week as Ballet Manila continues its mission to bring ballet to the people.

The first stop is at the Far Eastern University (FEU) Auditorium on October 26, 6 p.m. BM will be joined by soprano Anna Migallos, baritone Roby Malubay, and tenor Nomher Nival, providing live musical accompaniment to the dramatic ballet opera.

The company will then proceed to Baguio for The Silver Gala. Bringing the best of Ballet Manila to the City of Pines, La Traviata is the centerpiece of a unique repertoire that highlights BM strength and artistry. Also to be performed is an excerpt from Don Quixote, The Dying Swan, El Adwa and OPM Suite. Completing the line-up are Ecole and 21 Guns which will be performed with Ballet Baguio. The Silver Gala will be held on October 29, 5 p.m., at the CAP John Hay Theater.

Principal dancers Abigail Oliveiro and Mark Sumaylo will be reprising their roles as Violetta and Alfredo with Joshua Enciso as the Baron.

This clip is taken from the world premiere of La Traviata which was performed in March 2020 at the Samsung Hall in Taguig City.

La Traviata at the FEU Auditorium is free to the FEU community with a P300 ticket for outsiders. For details, visit their official Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FEUcenterfortheArts/
