Offstage: Playtime
They just have to keep on dancing! Ballet Manila artists love their craft so much that even when they're away from the stage, they end up busting a move, trying out some steps or at least striking a ballet pose or two.
Starting out as a Project Ballet Futures scholar of Ballet Manila, Jamil Montibon is now a company artist who has been proving his mettle in numerous productions. Most notably, he has already “inherited” a role originated by co-artistic director Osias Barroso in Jojo Lucila's Sari't Bahag. He exudes intensity on stage, belying his quiet demeanor. In 2015, Jamil was among the competitors BM sent to the Asian Grand Prix in Hong Kong. After the rigors of the competition, he joined colleagues in his first-ever trip to Disneyland – a milestone that he celebrated with this jump shot, showing the joy, agility and flexibility of a true dancer.
