Offstage: Underwater ballet

They just have to keep on dancing! Ballet Manila artists love their craft so much that even when they're away from the stage, they end up busting a move, trying out some steps or at least striking a ballet pose or two.

For Ballet Manila boys Alvin Dictado, Jamil Montibon and Elmoe Dictado, summer vacation in Boracay meant engaging in a host of fun activities. When they weren’t swimming in the island resort’s cool blue waters, they were up in the air being embraced by the wind while parasailing. They also took the opportunity to try helmet diving so they could see the colorful marine life. While underwater, with a variety of fish flitting about, the trio mugged for the camera in a series of shots. When BM co-artistic director Osias Barroso saw this particular picture, he couldn’t help but exclaim, “Retire passé underwater!”
