Cinderella revisited

Cinderella revisited

Two years since its premiere, prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde's Cinderella returned to the stage and enchanted its audience once again. The fairytale - the first full-length ballet that Macuja-Elizalde choreographed - was the third offering of Ballet Manila's 23rd season aptly named Tour De Force.

Returning as Cinderella and Prince Charming are principal dancer Abigail Oliveiro with soloist Mark Sumaylo.

Taking on the title role for the first time was principal dancer Joan Emery Sia who was partnered by fellow principal dancer Rudy De Dios.

The new set of step family was led by company artist John Ralp Balagot as the stepmother with soloists Jasmine Pia Dames and Nicole Barroso alternating as the first stepsister, and company artists Rissa May Camaclang and Emma Zoe Harris alternating as their sibling.

Company artist Kong Ke Xin was the magical fairy godmother - a role originally performed by Macuja-Elizalde herself.
