What: Dance Belt

A Dance Belt is an essential piece of a male dancer’s apparel that is worn at all times of dancing (classes, rehearsals and performances). It is the first garment that a male dancer wears in place of underwear before putting on the rest of his attire. The purpose of a dance belt is to lift, support and protect the male anatomy from vigorous movements. Due to the nature of male dancers’ skin-tight costumes, especially tights, any conventional underwear worn would be made obvious. Hence aesthetically, dance belts also help eliminate unwanted lines and create a smooth surface.
