Cinderella returns to the ball

Cinderella returns to the ball

Ballet Manila ended 2023 on a magical note with its holiday offering, Lisa Macuja-Elizalde’s Cinderella. Principal dancers Abigail Oliveiro and Mark Sumaylo reprised their roles as Cinderella and the Prince – characters that they have performed since the choreography premiered in 2017.

In addition, for the week-long run, BM introduced a new Cinderella and her Prince with principal dancers Shaira Comeros and Joshua Enciso stepping into these iconic roles for the first time. This is also Shaira’s first lead performance in a full-length ballet since being promoted as a principal artist in 2022.

While the year has ended, the magic continues well into 2024. In this slideshow, Cinderella is revisited through over 80 photographs capturing the highlights of the fairytale romance, along with the hilarious moments with Cinderella’s stepfamily as well.
