Mar 14 Le Corsaire 2024 revisited

Le Corsaire continues to be a showcase piece for Ballet Manila with its recent staging of a new version by the company’s artistic director, Lisa Macuja Elizalde. In this re-choreographed form, the pirate ballet highlights more characters, giving the dancers opportunities to show off their artistic and technical capabilities.

In this clip are photographs featuring both casts from the season opening performance of Le Corsaire with principal dancers Mark Sumaylo and Romeo Peralta Jr. as Conrad, principal dancers Abigail Oliveiro and Jasmine Pia Dames as Medora, principal dancers Gerardo Francisco Jr. and Joshua Enciso as Ali, principal dancers Shaira Comeros and Jessica Pearl Dames as Gulnara, and soloist Anselmo Dictado and company artist Noah Esplana as Lankadem.
