In Their Own Words: Company artist Vian Reign Pelegrin shares advice from her brother, soloist Sean Pelegrin

In their own words, the artists of Ballet Manila share their thoughts and experiences on not merely surviving but flourishing in the very challenging world of dance. Parati lang niyang sinasabi sa akin na once binigyan ka ng opportunity, i-grab mo po talaga ’yon. Gawin mo ’yung best mo na magawa mo ng maayos ’yung binigay sa ’yo kasi siyempre kapag company, mahirap mabigyan ng opportunities. Kaya iyan ang laging tumatatak sa akin. Kailangan galingan ko at hard work palagi.

 

He would always tell me that once I am given an opportunity, I should really grab it. I should give it my best and properly perform the role given to me because, of course, in a company, opportunities are hard to come by. So that is what was impressed on me the most. I need to give it my all and work hard always.
