Ballet Manila opens its 21st season, hailed as The Revenge of the Classics, with the return of Martin Lawrance's Rebel on Aug. 19 at Aliw Theater. Rebel retells the epic Spartacus through the prism of the historic EDSA People Power Revolution.

Soloist Mark Sumaylo, who takes on the role of former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., shares his thoughts on the complexities of that period and the dilemmas that his character experiences.
