Dance partners for life

Dance partners for life

Dance, a wise man once said, is the shortest distance between two hearts. Dancing together every day has shortened this distance even further, resulting to a growing list of couples in Ballet Manila who have moved from the stage into real life.

In this video, we celebrate Valentines’ month featuring four pairs of BM dancers with relationships that began as partners in dance. Lisa Macuja School of Ballet assistant director Sofia Sangco-Peralta and principal dancer Romeo Peralta have been married for over 15 years. Principal dancers Abigail Oliveiro and Mark Sumaylo tied the knot in 2022. Principal dancer Jessica Pearl Dames and soloist Sean Pelegrin got engaged while welcoming 2026. And soloists Rissa May Camaclang and Noah Esplana got engaged last year.
