Offstage: Exit strategy

Offstage: Exit strategy

They just have to keep on dancing! Ballet Manila artists love their craft so much that even when they're away from the stage, they end up busting a move, trying out some steps or at least striking a ballet pose or two.

What do you get when you bring together a photography buff and a willing model? One amazing shot – in the most mundane of places. Abigail Oliveiro says she and fellow soloist Mark Sumaylo were just out to throw the trash in their condominium one Saturday afternoon. But the latter – who has long had his eye on the striking yellow/ black stripes on the wall in the building’s carpark – thought they might as well take a few pictures. “He asked if I wanted to do anything and I saw how empty and bright the carpark was so I went for it. I like that pose. It's always the first one I think of. It's actually one of the more comfy stretches for me,” shares Abigail, who is probably wondering what new location Mark will think of next for another cool shoot.
